Poiple

I posted green-and-purple looks recently, and it got me thinking that I don't really give my purples enough love. So for your viewing pleasure, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... looks using purple stuffs!

Lid: Light purple from 17 palette (and to blend edges)
Crease: Fyrinnae Shinigami
Outer lid: Fyrinnae STFU
Lower Lashline: 17 purple, with STFU on the outer lashline
Highlight: MAC Gesso
Liner: Collection 2000 Glam Crystals in Shake It Up

Face:
Models Own blush in Warm Glow
Benefit It Stick Concealer
Kryolan fixing spray (testing it out... will review later.)

Lips:
Nameless sheer 'purple' gloss with holo glitter

(Eeeew, roots. I'm such a slack 'beauty' blogger!) I really liked this look. The rusty colour STFU made over the purples was beautiful. I'm playing with layering Pixie Epoxy at the moment (I've been layering it on the bottom lashline for a while now, but not on the lid) and yea, it's still awesome when you do that.

Eyes: (all Sleek Circus)
Lid: Matte Lilac
Crease: Bright matte pink (w/ shimmery fuschia in outer crease)
Outer V: Dark shimmery purple
Waterline: NYX JEP in Milk set with matte white

Cheeks:
Models Own blusher in Warm Glow

Lips:
Morgana Cryptoria pastel lipstick in Lush (blotted)
Brandless sheer purple gloss with holo glitter.

I got lots of comments on this look, probably because my real-life face is less stoopidz looking than that pathetic excuse for a photo right there. I feel really made up when I wear bright eyes and lips, so I skipped heavy liner and I think it works okay for daytime. Right...?

Eyes:
Lid/Crease: E.L.F Ethereal quad
Liner: Sleek kajal in Odyssey

Cheeks:
Darling Girl Fantasia

Lips:
Primark Well Licked Lipgloss in Sorbet

Really should have added black liner to the top lashes or something, but the combination of this kajal and Wicked is something I will be returning to fo' sho.

I did do some a couple more purple looks but my camera/memory card had a bit of a paddy and didn't want to co-operate with me for a while. Wanna know what's coming up on my blog? So do I! Nah, it's some of this stuffs:

-Looks! On my face!
-More on the MUA eyeliners
-E.L.F studio brush and eyeshadow quad review

Any suggestions? I'm pretty stumped at the moment make-up wise, I won't lie to you! Anyone want to challenge me to a week of something or something?

x

Blogger Collab: My Green Eyeshadows

We were supposed to swatch our favourite eyeshadows from a certain colour group...

Li-Ann from Sparklecrack Central went to town on her yellow collection.
Wendy from Turtle Beauty swatched some utterly beautiful purples.
Kimmie from KimmieKarmaLove is going to be sexing our eyes with her blues.
Jade from thejadecarver is going all monochrome on us with her greys, silvers and blacks.
Rachel from redlipstickblackliner will be showcasing some awesome red and oranges.

...but I got carried away and just did pretty much all the greens I own apart from my 120 palette. Oops.

All pressed shadows over NYX JEP in Milk, all loose shadows over Fyrinnae Pixie epoxy.

Sleek:

L-R:
Golden khaki - Sleek Bohemian.
Matte kelly green - Sleek Bohemian.
Blue-green - Sleek Original.
Medium forest green - Sleek Original
Deep Olive - Sleek Original.

(The first swatch and the last swatch are very, very similar in real life. Luckily the photo shows that the Bohemian shade is more golden - Sleeks palettes often contain extremely similar shades.)

L-R:
Semi-matte army green - Sleek Acid
Matte neon green - Sleek Acid
Mistletoe - deep forest green. Sleek Sparkle.
Chartreuse-y green. Sleek Circus.

Bottom:
Mistletoe close-up.

L-R:
Black-based green, Sleek Storm
Intoxicated, (Bad Girl) . Another black based green - I'd describe it as magpie feather green!
Envy ( Bad Girl). Black base with a hint of green iridescence.

(See what I mean about bunging in similar shades? Intoxicated is the strongest green in real life, but there's not that much difference between it and the Storm green.)

Barry M and High Voltage:

L-R:
-Barry M Dazzle Dust in no 72 Emerald. Emerald Green.
-Barry M Dazzle Dust in no 95 Parrot Green. Low-shimmer matte green - exactly the colour of er, parrots.
-Barry M Dazzle Dust in Apple Green (limited edition, no number.)Bright candy apple.
High Voltage eyeshadow Star Breaker. Bright, light lime green.

High Voltage:

L-R:
Hanky Panky. Dirty brown-gold green (It looks purple here, sorry :S)
November Rain. Jungle green.
Pirate: Blackened metallic green.

L-R
Rebel Rebel. Dusky sage, leaning a little blue.
Dark Romance. Green gold with black undertone.
Tree Hugger. Bright lime green.
Roadie. Deep green/teal.

Hi-Fi:

L-R:
-Down In The Underground. Complex forest green/purple duochrome. (See the Hi-Fi swatch here.)
Sweet Dreams. Minty green.
Slime and Snails. Light golden green with blue glitter.
Creeper. Dirty lime green.
Living Dead Girl. ZOMBIE GREEN.

Bottom:
Slime and Snails
Down In The Underground.

Wet n' Wild:

L-R:
-Sheer green and forest green from Cool as a Cucumber palette
-Mac Club dupe from Night Elf palette, the same over a dark base to show the green duo-chrome better.

Evil Shades:

L-R:
Acolyte. Deep forest green.
Whooo R U?. Almost neon pastel, brighter irl.
Wyvern. Light minty iridescent green.

Living Dead Grrl:

L-R:
That's A Fact! Bright lime green with orange sparkles.
The Same Deep Water As You. Deep forest green.
Whip It. Medium green with golden sparkles.
Skip To The End: Teal-leaning green.
Robot Club: Slightly sheer, icy mint green.

(I tried super hard to capture Skip to the End and Robot Club properly - they look overly blue next to the greens here. I promise they aren't blue!)

Fyrinnae
:

L-R:
Arcane Magic Leopard Print Galaxy. Greeny-goldy-coral-y madness
Dressed to Kill. Deep green with gold sparkles.
Danse Macabre.
Blue Footed Booby. Semi-matte sage green.
Arcane Magic Electric Stardust. Bright, sparkly silver green.

Bottom, L-R:
Leopard Print Galaxy
Electric Stardust

Well, that's all my greens! Most of them aren't true greens - they're dirty, or golden, or a little bit teal, but apparently that's how I roll. If I had to live with just five, I'd pick Sleek Intoxicated, Fyrinnae Electric Stardust, Living Dead Grrl That's A Fact, Hi-Fi Sweet Dreams and High Voltage Roadie but that could all change tomorrow!

Wishlist:
Hi-Fi: Boom Shaka Laka, Deck the Halls, Storm of Thorns.
Fyrinnae: Bamboo Revolution, Eternal Innocence, Leif, Winter Again, Tyr.
Sugarpill: Tipsy, Absinthe.
MAC: Wondergrass, Velvet Moss
Detrivore: Ectoplasma, Condemned.
Meow: Euterpe, Sexy Time, Sexy Pants, ROFLMAO
Darling Girl: Mistletoe'd, Keroppi, Aida, Showdown

Agh, lets be honest, I want any and all of the greens! Green rules!

Ravishing: My Red Lip Product Collection

I used to think that, being a red head, I couldn't wear red lipstick as it "wouldn't go with my hair." Once I came to the realisation that nothing goes with my hair, my red lipstick collection expanded somewhat! I love a good red lip - especially as my go-to lazy look when I still want to look awesome is very much in the pin-up camp - but I still am too scared to wear them on a normal day, which is silly when I'll wear something crazy bright like Milani Rose Hip to work, no?

Right. Enough jabbering, more swatching.

-Nyx Round Lipstick in Fire

Gorgeous, creamy, pink-leaning red. I like wearing it with bright blue liner!

-Make Up Academy Lipstick Shade 8

Brickish-red shot through with gold sparkles. Really beautiful with a golden smokey eye.

-Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayon in no 3 Mandarin

-Coral red with orangey sparkles. I heard these were sheerer than their lipsticks, but I find this baby pretty pigmented. Certainly going to pick up the Cherry Red shade.

-Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in NSFW

-Bright red, leaning blue based. The OCC website annoys me because it calls this a 'Primary blue-based red.' Errrr, what? Anyway, I love this colour but I have trouble applying it neatly, as you can see!

- Barry M Lip Gloss Wand in no 9 Cherry Glitter

Light red-pink witth red glitter. Alone, it looks like my lips have measles or something. On top of another red (shown here over Sleek True Colour in Vixen) or even a pink, it looks gorgeous! Nasty artifical cherry smell, but it does fade.

-Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Vixen

-Fire engine time! An amazingly pigmented lipstick for less than £4! Sleek wins cool points.

-Barry M Lip Paint no 141 Royal Raspberry

Deep, plummy raspberry colour with slightly metallic finish. Dead sexy!

-Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipcolor E190 Royal Red

I think this is a pretty true red. I've had this for a good couple of years now - it was my first ever red lipstick! D'aaaaw! - so I'm not sure if it's still available. Edit: I have found it a few places, but it's not on the Maybelline stands anymore

-Make Up Academy Lipstick Shade 1

-Deep, glossy, blood red. A little darker in real life. Has a lot of slip to it.

-Nyx Round Lipstick in Hebe

Berry undertones, slightly metallic.

-MAC Viva Glam Cyndi

Perhaps it's not really a red, butas it doesn't look pink to my eyes, here it is. I guess it's a coralish red. Good for days when red is too scary but you need some colour, anyway.

-Make Up Academy Lipstick Shade 13

Perfect pin-up red for just £1. Again, a fair bit of slip but not you cannot argue with the colour for £1.

-Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Reincarnation

'Sheer' brickish red with blue sparkles. Ok, Fyrinnae says this is sheer, and I presume they mean the colour, rather than the opacity as I get quite good coverage. I think this is lovely and understated, but the blue sparkles really give it some pizazz!

-Evil Shades Deviant Lipstick in Devilista

Long-lasting cherry red. A really popular ES lipstick and I can see why!

-Nyx Mega Shine Lipgloss in Burdungy

Amazingly pigmented jewel-like burgundy gloss. On top, applied sheerly, below, applied thickly - the lighting is awful in both but you get an idea of texture and that it looks more jewel-like if you apply it thickly. I need to get round to trying this with a taupe smokey eye.

-Evil Shades Deviant Lipstick in Corset

Alright, so it's not a 'red' red, it's a blackened red, but here it is. I find it super flattering and long-wearing, as well as cheap as chips!

BeautyUK lipstick in Naughty

Glossy, minty, slightly orange leaning. No arguments at £3.49

Wet N Wild Shine On Lipstick in 514A Cherry Frost

Berry-leaning with tiny gold shimmers. A freaking steal at 99c. Love it.

Wet N Wild Mega Last Lipstick in '909D Coraline'

I think this is more orange than coral-based, but whatevs.

Cover Girl Lasting Perfection lipstick in 'Flame.'

Possibly similar to MAC Lady Danger? The blogosphere has been going nuts for this line of lipsticks and I can see why. I adore the formula.

MAC Matte Lipstick in 'Russian Red.'

Mother kisser don't budge.

Well, that's all. A humble collection compared to some, I'm sure, but I'm pretty happy with it! My faves of the bunch are Sleek Vixen, Evil Shades Devilista and MUA Shade 13. My wishlist is as follows - feel free to recommend more!

-Mac Lady Danger
-Revlon Cherries in the Snow, Fire and Ice (can't believe I didn't bloody buy it!)
-Illamasqua Sangers
-Evil Shades Diabolical Deviant Lipstick and Push gloss
-Fyrinnae Type A
-Boots No 17 Hot Chili
-Rimmel Lasting Finish in Retro
-Clinique Vintage Red, Red-y to Wear
-Kryolan LC010 and LC009

Pretty In Pink: My Pink Lip Product Collection

After our orange-red-purple swatch-o-rama, I got thinking about my lipstick collection and thinking I should swatch everything. It's something I like doing as it makes me re-evaluate my collection - really helpful at this low-but time of year. These aren't all my pinks as I have several more 'natural', my-lips-but-better shades, a few lip liners (boring) as well as several glosses that are sheerer, but I've omitted them or I'd never have finished this post!

-Nyx Round Lipstick in Narcissus

Light, bright, bubblegum pink! If you've read that it's a dupe for MAC St Germain - as I have about a bazillion places - well, I don't even own St Germain and I can tell you that it ain't. If you want a dupe for that, check here!

-Make Up Academy lipstick Shade 12

Rosy pink with lots of silver glitter. The glitter is a little gritty, but for £1 I think this is stunning. It has a slightly nasty, fibreglass-esque smell, which is a shame as the other lipstick in this range, while cheap smelling, at least smell slightly sweet! The scent fades once applied, though.

-Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Lollipop-pop

Lovely light pink with blue reflect. A fave with Fyrinnae fans, perfect if you want something a little different but not too loud. This would be way up there for me if it weren't so close to my natural lip colour.

-Milani Rose Hip.

Bright as fook! I'm not sure this is available any more, which is a shame, especially if you're a fair skinned, blue-eyed babe. I have found a good alternative though, so read on!

-Nyc Ultra Last Lipstick in Blue Rose

Deep fuschia pink (promise it's not red!) with obvious blue undertones. Utterly gorgeous, bargain price. It does bleed a little, and the packaging is utter, utter crap. (The lid does not stay on if you give the tube the chance to rattle around at all - don't just sling it in your handbag!_ Even so, for £1.99, it is totally beautiful. It's supposed to be a good dupe for Morgana Azalea Blue - anyone?

-Evil Shades Deviant Lipstick in Bane

Bane looks purple but applies pink with blue/purple reflects - much like their eyeshadow Suffocation and Wicked Gloss of the same name, except more pigmented. I do need to buy a full tube of this!

-MAC Viva Glam Gaga (Lustre)

Ah, the infamous Gaga! I've never come across anything I think is a good dupe for this. There are plenty of milky bubblegum shades out there, but I think its the formula that makes this one a winner. I've been told it looks good on me, but I'm too scared to wear it for some reason!

-Make Up Academy lipstick Shade 3

Deep raspberry. Another winner for just £1, I find myself reaching for this on a lazy day with just a slick of liner and mascara. Apologies for the embarrassingly sloppy swatch!

-Collection2000 Lasting Colour Lipstick in no 6. Bubblegum

Bright bubblegum with a purple undertone. Very pigmented, but slightly drying. Like all 'lasting' lippes, it's not one for dry lips, but for less than £3 for such a stonkingly bright shade, I'll forgive it its sins.

-Nyx Round Lipstick in Louisiana

Another hot raspberry, though lighter and less obviously blue-based than Make Up Academy shade 3. I marginally prefer the MUA colour but the formula is certainly nice.

-NYC Ultra Last Lipstick in Snowcone

I seem to have amassed several frosty pink lipsticks! What year do I think I'm in? This is the only one I actually like and wear, albeit once in a blue moon, thus the only one I've swatched.

-Fyrinnae Lip Luste in Devil Horns

Coppery/coral pink with pink shimmer. My utter favourite Lip Lustre - it's so flattering. If you've never tried one, try this one! Plus it smells of rum, hooray!

-E.L.F Super Glossy Lip Shine in Pink Kiss

Milky pink. These glosses are very strange - quite thick and pigmented, but not sticky. These have a really sweet taste, so steer clear if you're not into flavoured glosses. Most of the range are SPF 15 and they have some gorgeous colours - bargain for £1.50/$1.

-Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Visual Kei

Despite being a lot brighter than Lollipop-Pop, I find myself reaching for Visual Kei more often. A lip lustre must have! (I should say here that I love the Lip Lustre formula, even though I know lots of people that they just don't work for. Please don't let a bad review put you off these - there are some on Make Up Alley, for example, that seem to be due to either a bad batch, or an old formula.)

-Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour Gloss in In Vogue.

A reddish-pink with lots of hot pink sparkle. I've read it's a dupe for MAC Love Alert Dazzleglass. I have no idea how true this is, as I refuse to fork out for MAC glosses, but it's a fantastic quality gloss. You can see a couple of other dupes here on Itsliz89.

-NYX Ultra Last lipstick in Smooch

Rose Gold. I wasn't sure whether to include this here as it's so golden, but it deserved to be shown somewhere, so here it is! The forumla is a tad more drying than the other two NYC lipsticks I have here, but once it's on, it lasts and it's really is stunning.

-High Voltage Lip Candy in Heart of Glass

Another bright as hell rose pink! If you can't find Milani Rose Hip, this is a perfect alternative. This is slightly lighter than Rose Hip, but it's a pretty marginal, especially once on. I prefer the formula of Heart of Glass as the wear is fantastic and it's creamier - the only downside is that it's in a pot, not a bullet.

-Evil Shades Hardcore Lips in Not Your Barbie

This is the exact pink I remember Barbies box being! A fantastic pigmented gloss - I can't stop looking at it when I have it on! It's a little tricky to apply being that it's both thin and pigmented, but it is really, really worth it.

-Barry M Lip Paint in Touch Of Magic

A fuschia lip stain. This is the green lipstick that turns pink according to some alkali voodoo or whatever. I don't buy it, but it's a gorgeous stain that shows much brighter than this picture and lasts a good six to eight hours. I often apply it, wait until the colour takes, blot it all off and use it as a base for a pink gloss.

Lipsticks added after this point were posted after the original post.

-
High Voltage Lip Candy in Gagalicious

Super pale, slightly lilac-leaning pink. Really gorgeous, opaque colour that surprisingly, doesn't make me look corpse-y!

-Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Amped

As soon as Sleek brought out the matte version of these, I snapped this little pretty thing right up. Pretty decent matte forumla - everyone needs a shade like this!

-MAC Matte lipstick in Candy Yum Yum

Pretty similar to the above Sleek, but slightly more neon. I marginally prefer the MAC, but if you don't want to pay the silly, silly prices (which I didn't, and yet I end up with both?) go for the Sleek.

-Evil Shades Deviant Lipstick in Fearless

Gorgeous hot pink with a neon-undertone that glows under blacklight! Really unusual shade and total bargain at around three quid.

Well, that's most of my pinks, girls. Any favourites? I couldn't live without Make Up Academy shade 3, High Voltage Heart of Glass, Fyrinnae Devil Horns or Evil Shades Not Your Barbie! Any recommendations? I really want to try OCC Anime, MAC St Germain and Morgana Cryptoria Carnation!

Big pink kisses,

Robyn x
