Happy New Year!

Hope you all had a great night. First of all, I'd like to say hello to my new followers. There's more than 250 of you now, which to me is just totally insane and I'm very happy about it! If you're new, do say hi so I can check out your blog or Twitter.

I'd also like to thank everyone who has stuck around to read my posts. You know who you are. When I started blogging, not to sound too much of a teenage emo, I was not a happy bunny. Reading all your blogs inspire me, make me laugh and er, covet pretty things. So thank you all :)

Wanna see some makeup now?

Eyes:
Lid and lower lashline: Darling Girl Honey Pot
Crease: Darling Girl Chococat
Highlight: Er, can't remember!
Glitter: Collection 2000 Glam Crystals in ? (black and gold) patted over outer 1/3 of lid, and brandless holographic gold pressed over the top.
Lashes: Brandless from Savers

Cheeks:
Darling Girl Fuschia

Lips:
Barry M Lip Gloss Wand in Coral

I kept it pretty simple, but I did want some glitter! Had an understated yet fun night, drinking champagne, beer and G&Ts and playing games and singing Auld Lang Syne with some old friends. I don't make resolutions normally, as I don't keep them, so the only thing I'll set myself is to post twice a week, and at least once a month, sit down and do something creative with make-up.

Hope you're not hanging too badly...

Ow kunnit nofe skusin danger ifzat?

Sick of Harry Potter looks yet? Yes?! Well then sectumspempra to you. (Well, maybe not. But definitely a Bat-Bogey Hex or something of the sort.) I always thought I'd never bother because its pretty obvious and done colour combos, but then I realised that, oh yeah, I freaking love Harry Potter. So here we go...

Slytherin:

My house... Ah, who am I kidding, I'd be in Hufflepuff. I wanted something dark and murky but still using the house colours, leaving a neutral pale face a la Draco. I used Sleek, Barry M, Wet N Wild and Fyrinnae.

Gryffindor:

Came out a little too pink, I think (and I used ES Zombie which is a bit too purple), but I liked it anyway. It was nice and warm, like the Gryffindor common room! Mainly Sleek and Fyrinnae with some Evil Shades.

Ravenclaw:

Using Hi-Fi, Wet N Wild, Barry M, Gosh and Sleek. I went for the book colours, obviously; Ravenclaw automatically makes me think of Luna so I went for a nice cheery blue (Hi-Fi Chicago =<3)as opposed to navy, which is more of a traditional school jumper colour (in the UK anyway!)

Hufflepuff:

I did another look for this, but it was too yellow. I mean, YELLOW. So I redid it and this is what I came up with. Eh... I just couldn't do anything good. If I had more time I could do a really funky badger liner, but these are all what I wore to work.

Hungarian Horntail:

Grey, taupe and black for the Horntails scales, gold for its egg! Love me some Horntail! Using Sleek, Fyrinnae and 120 palette. Not quite how it was in my head but I liked the placement.

Wormtail:

Murky brown for his fur as a rat (and probably his soul. What a prick) and silver for his new hand. All Sleek shadows. I really, really like silver and brown together. I'm going to try this combo again with dark green liner and a Mac Club dupe in the crease.

Nymphadora Tonks:

Tonks is one of my favourite characters. Obviously this is inspired by her hair. I used Sleek, Fyrinnae, MUA and Collection 2000.

Yay and hooray! Off to finish OOTP now kthxbai x

The plaaaaaaaans...

My make-up always takes me ages in the morning and the other day, I realised that it's because it takes me ages to decide what to wear! So this week, I decided what colours to wear before I go to bed, dug them all out, and it's been a lot quicker in the mornings!

Here's what I wore:

Eyes:
Fyrinnae Polar Bear (lid)
Fyrinnae Dance Macabre (crease)
Hi-Fi Another Day Another Drama (outer V)
Hi-Fi Slime and Snails (foiled as liner)

Cheeks:
Benefit 10

Lips:
Barry M lip gloss wand in Toffee

I was planning a lot more purple in this look but it wasn't working out for me! I liked the gold-green combo though.

Eyes:
Kyrolan Aqua Colour in UV Blue (base)
Fyrinnae Dinosaur Plushie (lid)
Fyrinnae Digital Faerie (crease and lower lashline)
Evil Shades Devil's Bonfire (outer V)

Cheeks:
NYC Creme Blush in Pink Flash with just a hint of MAC Stereo Rose

Lips:
Barry M lip gloss wand in Toffee

Sigh, I wish that Dinosaur Plushie would photograph well!

Eyes:
Fyrinne Moon Child (lid)
Sleek matte tan and brown from the Bohemian Palette (crease)

Cheeks:
Models Own blush in Warm Glow

Lips:
Maybelline liner in Royal Red
Barry M Lip Paint in 141 (Royal Raspberry)

Check me rocking out red lips! I'm always scared of red lips day to day, but I was doing office-based stuff at work that day rather than running round the bar, so I was able to touch it up if needs be. A layer of powder between layers of lippie really makes it last - This bad boy did me through a bag of sweets, two satsumas and three hours before I needed to touch it up.

Eyes:
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Oyster Grey (lid)
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Winter Berry (crease)
Fyrinnae Calavera Cupcakes (Inner corner, lower lashline)
Collection 2000 Extreme Liner in Purple

Cheeks:
Almay Blush in 130 Peach

Lips:
E.L.F Super Glossy in.... light pink?

Eyes:
Fyrinnae Digital Faerie (lid)
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Storm Cloud (crease)
Hi-Fi Morbid Faith (inner corner)
Wet n' Wild light iridescent blue from Sky's the Limit Duo (to blend crease)
Collection 2000 Glam Crystals liner in Va Va Voom

Cheeks:
MAC Springsheen Blush

Lips:
Barry M lip gloss wand in Toffee

No full face shot for you! Can anyone suggest a really dark navy eyeshadow? I like Storm Cloud but it blends horribly.

Well, this week has taught me I need to buy some more lipgloss! I'm nearly all out of my Barry M Toffee, which is my go-to, slightly nude gloss. Any suggestions for subtle, everyday glosses? How do you decide what makeup to wear in the mornings?

xxxx

P.S. I have some make-overs coming up! I did a fun look on my friend Dolly Divine, me and my sister did each others make-up and hopefully I'll have shots from my first photoshoot up soon as well :)

Foxy Foxy

Playing with greens in preparation for Hallowe'en - I am probably going to be very unoriginal and go as some sort of sexy Zombie, as per usual. Not as OTT as it will be on the night, as I'll do greyer skin, wounds, etc, plus much darker eyeshadow, but I just wanted to play :)

Eyes:
UDPP/NYX JEP in Milk/Pixie Epoxy
Mac Gesso (inner corner, highlight)
High Voltage e/s in Starbreaker (middle of lid)
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Parrot Green (crease)
Evil Shades e/s in Acolyte (Brows, to liner outer V area)
Collection 2000 Fast Strokes liner in Black (upper liner, beauty mark)
Barry M Kohl Pencil in no17 Bright Emerald (as base on lower lashline)

Face:
Fyrinnae Glow Blush in Charm (applied high on cheeks)
Light green 'Browbone' colour from Wet n Wild Cool as a Cucumber palette (highlight)

Lips:
Rimmel Kohl Liner in Forest Green
Green lipgloss made by me

Skull and Crossbones Necklace:
Claire's Accessories

I left my green brows on all day. Go me :) x

Second Mask Entry for Julissa's Masquerade contest!

If you don't know about this, guys, you so check it out! Julissa at Rebellious Make-up is having an awesome contest/giveaway with a masquerade theme! There are THREE prizes, which is totally awesome, and they all include something cool Julissa is going to make, which I think is rad. First prize includes stuff from Fyrinnae, OHWTO, Make Up Forever... ah, its awesome, go enter.

Anyway, here is my look. I really, really wasn't happy with it all, but not close up, it looks ok. As per, I gave up halfway through when neither my Kryolan nor regular ol' eyeliner wanted to cooperate for drawing the lines. I was 'inspired,' if you can call it that, by both the cool mask Bayonetta wears at the start of the game and the mask scene in the Labyrinth a bit, and Labyrinth in general, hence the shape of the eyeshadow.

(only closed eye pic I took, sorry judges!)

Eyes:
Hi-Fi #1 Hit Single (lid)
MUA Shade 3(I don't bloody know, the grey shade - crease, winged shapes)
Hi-Fi Between the Stars (inner corner, Highlight)
H-Fi Another Day, Another Drama (liner)
Eyelure Girls Aloud Festival Lashes in Nicola (<3)

Mask:
Collection 2000 Glitter in Shake It Up
Kryolan AquaColour in Black/Collection 2000 Fast Strokes Liner
Purples from 120 palette

Cheeks
Top-right hand fuschia from Sleek Circus

Lips
NYX Round Lipstick in Medusa
No-name clear gloss with holographic glitter

What do you think? It was fun to do and I got to put a posh dress on (thems the rules!) If anyone wants to know, the massive flower was £2 from Primark and the earrings I bought years and years ago at Accessorize.

I just loved the winged shape I did for this, so I decided to do it for the wearable look too. I just did a toned-down version, with some lilac-ish blush and blotted my lips with a lighter purple lipstick to keep the overall colour scheme. I always do a less heavy look after I've done a face with loads of slap, I can't help it!

Eyes:
Hi-Fi #1 Hit Single
Hi-Fi Between the Stars (inner corner)
Whatever the MUA shade is for the soft wings
Collection 2000 liner in Shake It Up

Cheeks:
Pink/Lilac colours from 120 Palette
NYX Mosaic Highlighter

Lips:
NYX Round Lipstick in Fusion

Give the contest a go!

Lily Allen inspired FOTD and other looks...

If you got the issue of Glamour that had the free Benefit (if you didn't, clicky HERE to win an Eye Bright pencil) you probably noticed Lily Allens awesome 1960s style makeup. Well, my liner skills need some serious sharpening (ha!) so I gave it a little go...

I even tried to draw on Lily's moles! I think it came out ok... on one eye! Certainly need more practice with this sort of thing, and I need to get some more eyelinr brushes as I'm just using a 210 which is too small for fatty boombatty liner like this. I just used 120 shadows and Kryolan Aquacolor for the eyes, and Gosh Darling patted on with my fingers for the lips.

Todays... or yesterdays by the time I post this.. look is using Barry M Orange and one of my favourite combos, the purple and cranberry from Sleek Bohemian palette. Good ol' Kryolan Aquacolors for the liner, UD 24/7 on the waterline and Natural Collection lippy in Caramel.

An green look I wore a week or so ago using 120 palette and a Collection 2000 glitter liner (clicky here to win one!)

And lastly a 'crazy' look using my MAC 3d Silver glitter and a couple pairs of previously un-used falsies, purples from my 120 and Barry M Lip Paint in no 129 Palest Lavender. Didn't really like the look but... meh, here it is.

I can't tell you how much I love this glitter!

Thats all for now kids, don't forget to enter my awesome giveaway!

Love Robyn x
