Quick and Simple LOTD's

Getting up earlier in the mornings is something I've found quite hard to adjust to, so I've tended to wear simpler, more neutral eyes with a more dramatic lip in the daytime over the last couple of weeks. Despite my worrying, I haven't found wearing brighter/darker/dramatic eyes at work a real problem, but I do find flaws in these looks more obvious, so they're not my go-to if I have to get up at six.

Here's a couple of easy looks.

Eyes: E.L.F Ethereal quad
Cheeks: BeautyUK Baked Blush in Baked Peach
Lips: Evil Shades Deviant Lipstick in Corset

Always see nude eyes, dark lips in the magazines, so thought I'd bust it out. Yay or nay - do I need more around the eyes? I got compliments on my lipstick but I'm not sure it doesn't make me look washed out without liner. Ah well.

Eyes: Lid - Fyrinnae Damn Paladins. Crease - Wet N Wild Humid (MAC Humid dupe.)
Cheeks: BeautyUK Baked Blush in Peaches and Cream, Accessorize Merged Blusher in Pretty Pink.
Lips: No 17 Shine On Lipstick in Twilight Tease

Normally green and purple (that lippy is much more purple-based irl) is a more in-your-face combo, but I wear wearing a leopard print dress to work so I thought it best not to push it with bright purples!

Eyes: Lid - Butternut colour from E.L.F Ethereal Quad. Crease: light matte brown from Sleek Storm.
Cheeks: MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Springsheen
Lips: Morgana Cryptoria Vegan Lipstick in Coraline's Kiss

I took this at the end of the day, hence looking a little shiny. I do like using a pop of colour on the lips, with (vaguely) matching blush and keeping the eyes neutral. As a side note... why did I buy a Sheertone blush only to moan that it's sheer? Anyone's guess, really.

What are your quick fixes, and go-to looks, girls?

  3. Corset looks INCREDIBLE on you! The other colors do as well, of course, but something about the way the purple looks against your hair is just sort of perfect.

When I have to do quick eyes, I just do MAC's smut all over the lid, into the crease and build it up. Then I do Naked Lunch on the browbone. It's so neutral that lips barely matter: you can do basically anything.

  4. A leopard print dress for work....can I come work where you work? I love the nude eyes with dark lips look, Corset is fantastic! I love the green and purple combo as well, and damn I just love Coraline's Kiss! The sheertone blush shows up quite well on you and is an excellent colour choice for your skin and hair!

  5. All three are very pretty! Love your hair in the last pic! Quick looks for me are usually adorned with Grace shadows, eyeliner, mascara, and thats it!

  6. lololol @ Jon photobombing the 2nd pic.

Anyway! Love the first look. Maybe a bit of brown liner but I can't say it looks bad... I think the dark lips are more noticeable without the liner.
Second look is crazy pretty! What do you think of that WetnWild green? It's way more pigmented than Mac's... that pink lippie you have on is pretty too.
The bottom one is awesome! Coraline's Kiss is gorgeous. I'm sad I ran out of my sample, maybe have to order a full size or something.

  7. I think they all look good on you.
I'm so bad, my goto look is a quick swipe of the closest purple shadow, mascara and slap on Bane as I run out the door. lol

  8. Gorgeous looks. I especially love the first and last ones.

I don't think you need to add more to the eyes in the first look at all- it's perfect. I'm a big fan of vampy dark lips :)

  9. Very nice! Love the first one .. You don't need much else when you add some dark lipstick :D

When I have to do quick make up, I draw eyebrows and add some kohl and black smokey eye and mascara and blush. x

  10. @Ki: Thankyou, I love greens!

@Darling Girl: I'm so glad I finally bought it, people had told me to for ages. It's so bright and cute.

@Viijis: I LOVE Corset. There's something special about it. I agree with you on the eye - especially if you need to switch it up later.

@Vulcan-Butterfly: My job is pretty cool! I do like the blush, it just takes more work than I like! After I've been using loose blush for a while pressed kind of annoys me!

@Cydonian: I *love* the Wet N Wild green! And I didn't even notice the photobomb!

@Evil Angel: I love Bane! Great with lots of mascara, liner, and you're done!

@Jen W: Thanks! I think I just felt a bit naked without eyeliner, you know?

@Jonna: Yea, I *always* do brows too! I look naked without them!

  11. Oooh love that Accessorize and Beauty UK blush combo. Pic 1- I'd add a bit more to the eyes but I'm a fan of gothic looks so perhaps can't be trusted.

  12. Love the greens on you & the lip color you've chosen.

  13. I have been a lipstick FIEND recently. It's been alllll about the neutral eyes and bright lips. This may or may not be because I bought maaaany lipsticks.

I think the first look would look better with your hair down, but that's not so practical for work. Or getting up early. I think the colour really suits you though :)
