Stylist: Holly Mitchell.

Isn’t she pretty? She’s like a cross between Evanna Lynch and Dakota Fanning. So gorgeous and only 18. I’m so old D: Her eyes are Fyrinnae “Rapunzel had Extensions” throughout with Inglot added on top. Lips are mostly Inglot (Sleeks Cream and AMC Blush).

This was a shoot for Emma’s website shop – she’s a print maker and her stuff is beautiful. Beyond, I love it! Again, eyes were Inglot with the exception of our second model, which was Maybelline. Cheeks were MAC throughout, lips were all mixtures of various things.

I’ve been working with Brian quite a lot lately and he takes some amazing portraits and is always fun to work with. This was one of Rachels first shoots and I think she had fun too! She asked for purple as soon as she sat down so I warmed to her just a bit! ;)

All from me today – got  a shoot-free weekend for the first time in a while so I’m going to the zoo! I bought a bunch of Real Techniques earlier this week and have managed to play with almost of of them so I’ll have a review up soon as I can!

Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette

Recently the lovely Rachael sold me her Burning Heart palette and I was salivating to play with it as soon as it came through my door. I was really interested to play with this palette as I’ve heard some mixed things about the pressed shadows.

L-R over bare skin on the top and NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk on the bottom: Poison Plum, Buttercupcake, Flamepoint, Love+.

Overall, I think this palette does deserve it’s reputation. It’s bright and pigmented, the colours are huge and good value – I didn’t pay full price, but I would. I think I’m going to get Sweetheart.

I do have a couple of small gripes, however. I find Poison Plum very difficult to work with. It’s slightly patchy to apply, and it’s a little difficult to blend. It’s not the worst shadow I’ve tried certainly, but the colour is totally beautiful and amazing and I wish that it was easier to work with. If there is a let down in the palette, it’s this one – and not to blow my shadow trumpet, but I’ve never had a problem with matte eyeshadows before. You can see from the swatch above that it’s not as smooth looking as the others, even over a base.

Buttercupcake is also a tad chalky compared to the other colours, but yellow is a very, very difficult colour. I’ve never tried a yellow that doesn’t have the problem, or one that doesn’t look slightly muddy when  you blend it. You can sort of see that the on  edges of the swatch and my look with it it’s brighter in the middle. I’m really nit-picking with Buttercupcake, it’s a yellow thing rather than quality of the shadow from my experience, but I still think it’s worth mentioning. Flamepoint and Love+ however, I have no problems with at all, and I am head over heels with. They’re perfect – bright, opaque, they apply well and blend nicely. It’s worth pointing out that mattes are always better over a sticky base like the NYX pencils, and if you’re using a white one with Love+, you might find it goes a little pink at the edges, or

Personally, I’d be more inclined to buy the pressed powders from Sugarpill over the loose. I love the loose colours from Sugarpill I have and the quality is nice, but they’re not any better or worse than other loose pigments I’ve tried. With the exception of Posion Plum I think theses are all utterly fabulous.

Guest blogger: A Trip Down Memory Lane from Helen of BBFriendForever

Hey y'all, today I'm handing you over to Helen from bbfriendforever.blogspot.co.uk, who's pretty new on the blogging scene. She's taking us back to her teens with the makeup she used to wear! I LOVE reading posts like this - my teen makeup was pretty awful - they're so fun and it's nice to reminisce!

A Trip Down Memory Lane.

Hi there,

First of all I would like to thank Robyn for allowing me to guest post. I haven’t been
writing my blog for very long, but have been reading make up blogs for some time…I
love reading Robyn’s blog, so I hope that I won’t spoil your fun today and that you’ll
enjoy my contribution!

A friend asked me recently where I get the inspiration for my eye make up looks. I guess
that these days I usually choose the colours from the clothes I am wearing that day and
apply my eye shadow using different techniques, depending on my mood. I also find
inspiration from my fellow bloggers, like Robyn, who pulls colours together in a way that
I would never have thought of doing!

This question also made me think back to how I wore make up in my teens. Then I was
influenced by magazines and my friends. Do you remember having to have a particular
shade of lipstick? For me that was Rimmel’s ‘Heather Shimmer’ a colour I still have,
though an up to date tube of course!
In eye make up, as a teen , I often wore the look that I have attempted to recreate for you
today.

I used today: (back in the day)
• MUA Professional eye primer. (didn’t exist)
• Silk Naturals 'stick 'em ' lash to brow and under the lower lashline (really no primers)
• Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer in 02 light (Rimmel hide the blemish)
• NYX JEP in ‘milk’ to lid and blended softly (an ancient Avon matte white eye
shadow- of my Mums, like a lipstick, which would often break and be messy)
• Bobbi Brown 'Ivory' crease to brow (a matte white from a Miners duo eye shadow)
• Bright orange from a warm 120 palette in crease (Miss Selfridge ‘screwball’- a matte
tangerine)
• Bobbi Brown Gel eyeliner in Ink (Boots17 cake eyeliner- I still have the fine brush I
used though)
• Benefit eyebright in lower waterline (Miners white khol)
• Maybelline one by one Volume express mascara in Black (Avon or Rimmel)
• Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in 06 'grey' as brow powder. (not sure I did the brows!)
Do you remember what you loved to wear in your teens?

Would you wear any of it now?

If you’ve time, then please take a peek at my blog, it’s bbfriendforever.blogspot.co.uk

Thanks, Helen! If you'd like to write  a guest post for the blog, just get in touch!

Disney Collaboration with Fierce Nerditude: Mickey Mouse

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E! Everyone loves Mickey Mouse, right? (Except my Granny.) I gave VIjaya her favourite Disney girl, Mulan to do, and I’m really excited to see what she came up with and I’ve been listening to the Mulan soundtrack all this week, ha ha! Anyway, I have a cheeky one-eye look for you today, hope you enjoy!

Lid: Sugarpill Love +. Liner, Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Gel liner. Gold liner, Darling Girl Honey Pot. Bottom lashes, eBay, top lashes, Primark.

I wish my liner was neater on the ears part,  but this gel liner is on it’s last legs and you know when you keep tidying your liner and it ends up massive? Yeah. That. Anyway, this was really fun to do and I actually think it looks quite cute!  I’d totally wear this look out without the ear parts – or if I was at Disney I’d totally wear it with them! I missed the Never Too Much Sparkle Disney showcase, but there’s tons of fun Disney looks up here.

Silver Liner inspired by Liza from Hues n Blues

I love Liza’s blog and when I saw this gorgeous look I knew I had to pinch it. Sorry, girl! But it was too pretty. I’d never have thought to pair silver liner with a peach lid, but it’s SO cute!

Lid: Inglot Matte 368. Crease/outer lid, Inglot Matte 377.  Lower lashline, Inglot AMC Shine 37 over Urban Decay 25/7 pencil in Bourbon. Silver liner, Sugarpill Tiara mixed with Inglot Duraline. Highlight, INglot Matte 330. Wing, Collection2000 24/7 Extreme pen liner in Black.
Cheeks: MAC Peaches.
Lips: MAC Hang Up (cremesheen.)

I’m not sure that Hang Up was the right choice for this look or not… I still can’t decide. I love Hang Up so much though, so, if it’s not quite right I’m going to ignore it. Other than that niggle, I love this look! Thanks for the inspiration, Liza!

More Sugarpill coming up soon, I have some Burning Heart looks!

Disney Collaboration with Fierce Nerditude: Nala from The Lion King

Oh, how I love The Lion King! Matthew Broderick, do more voice work, please! This week Vijaya gave me Nala to base a look off, and I gave her Maid Marion from Disney’s version of Robin Hood, so go check that out! (While we’re on the subject, I love Disneys Robin Hood. Especially the songs. And doooooooown with that scurvy Prince Johnnn!)

Eyes: Lid, Sugarpill Buttercupcake. Crease, Inglot Matte 368 . Highlight, Inglot AMC Shine 20 . Lower lashline, mix of Inglot colours. Green liner, Fyrinnae Danse Macabre. Black, Maybelline gel liner.

Cheeks: Almay Blush in Peach 130, Boots no 7 Highlight… oh, shit, I can’t remember what it’s called.

Lips: MUA Out There plumping lipgloss in Nude

I love the bright colours of Nalas eyes, so that’s what I went for with this look. I totally buggered up my liner because my gel liner is dead and I didn’t think to mix it with Inglot Duraline (works a freaking charm, yo) before I applied it. Ah well. Buttercupcake is nice, no? More looks with it to come!

Cheers for reading, y’all!

Well, that’s all of them, on me eyeballs! If I had to pick on, Survival Instinct is my pick. It’s definitely the stand-out of the collection in my opinion, I have nothing like it.  It’s Obviously a Wig, Squirrel Hunter and The Final Gift I also really adore and will use a lot. Songbird Weaponry is a fantastic deep blue and in my opinion there aren’t many of those about. Live Wire is a great, slightly warm silver and is really easy to wear. Well Dressed is a fantastic daytime colour, along with Boy With The Bread. If you’re into sparkles, check out Mayors Daughter. Rues Lullaby makes a great blush as well.

Thanks for reading, guys!
