Super Quick Long-Lasting Face!

Got ten minutes to get out of the door but still need to look fresh and wide awake and like you’ve washed and all the rest of these things that other humans expect of us? Here’s my 10 (ish) minute, long-lasting face!

Eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, MAC Paint Pot in Blackground. Gold highlight from e.l.f Day2Night, Active Lashes falsies.
Face: MAC Prep and Prime Moisture Infusion, Revlon Colorstay, Illamasqua Lover
Cheeks

For my eyes, I used paint pot-type products as they’re really quick to use – I used the Maybelline colour just with my fingers and then the MAC one with a small brush. I always go netural on the eyes if I have less time as I feel much less likely to fuck it up!   I’m fairly quick at putting falsies on and these ones have a really thin lash band so I find them pretty easy - filling in my brows actually took the most time out of the whole look! If I had to get up super early everyday I’d get them dyed for sure.
If you have time, a gold highlight is always lovely and if I were really strapped I’d do this instead of lashes

Normally, I have to wait ages for my face cream to sink in as I’ve switched to using richer ones in the daytime to keep the flakies away. It works well, but when I have less time I just slap on a wee bit of MAC Prep and Prime Moisture Infusion as it’s a cross between a serum and a primer, so it gives me some moisture but dried right away. I applied that and then used Revlon Colorstay with my fingers, just where I need it.

I used just one colour on my cheeks – I’d normally highlight - and a coordinating, long-wearing bright lippy for impact. And I was done!

This is still quite a lot of makeup, of course, and I could certainly do a quicker face (no falsies!). But normally I’d apply colour to my crease, use several colours and bases on my eyes, do winged liner, apply an inner corner, Cupid’s bow and cheek highlight, wait for my face cream to sink in, blah blah blah.

What do you do when you need to look presentable quickly?

NB: Though this really did take me around 10-15 mins, this post is mostly bollocks as we all know when we’re in a rush, we do our makeup on the bus and end up poking ourselves in the eye with a mascara wand. Fact.

  1. lol you look really pretty, if I'm pushed I go neutral eye bold lips, so usually like WNW Walking on Eggshells trio or something like that!

  2. Yeah strapped for time always = neutral eyes, bold lips. You look sexilicious. Like the cool-ish taupe with warm-toned cheeks and lips.

    1. I didn't even really think about the matchy bright cheeks and lips but I do tend to that...

  3. LOL! mascara on the bus! I would sub my Bobbi Brown cream long wear eyeshadow in 'sand dollar' for the maybelline one here...I put that on with a synthetic brush. I would never have the time for falsies though, but the twin mascara trick I have been using lately really works, a normal thickening mascara topped with a waterproof one, stays on all day and washes off easily!!! Fab post Robyn! x

  4. Most days when I'm in work really early I don't wear any makeup at all. If I have time, I slap on some bb cream, powder, blusher and mascara.

    1. If I'm REALLY pushed I will just do brows and mascara and slap on some tinted moisturizer and blush if I have time when I get to work.

  5. I've actually never done my make-up on the bus or train or tram or anything ever! I just don't wear any if I'm in THAT much of a rush :-\ xxx (PS I love moisture infusion serum but my go-to foundation is MAC prolongwear at the minute)

    1. Hahaha, maybe I'm just common! I have really light brows and lashes for my hair colour so I have to do SOMETHING or I have an albino face.

  6. The taupe Maybelline cream shadow is my go-to quick eye makeup also! Although it's called Tough as Taupe here. Why do they have different name like that? It kinda pisses me off. Probably more than it should. But your prettyfulness makes it all better!

    1. The names in the US were all sorty of "grrrr" because of the tattoo thing. Kinda dumb but not sure why they changed it really, especially seing as it's still "Color Tattoo" here and not "Colour Tattoo."

  7. You fare far better than me when it comes to quick makeup, as you still look fabulous. I swear mascara takes at least 10 minutes for me!

    1. Same here! My lashes are so piddly, it's actually better for me to use falsies I know I can apply quickly than try to get my mascara to look nice!

  8. Can I just say I love the fact that you used NB on a blog? I've been reading so much (too much?) academic work, the style is beginning to grow on me! At any rate, I love this look on you, very cute! I have been doing LOTS of long-wearing, fast looks lately... Call it a rut! Anyway, this gives me some new ideas to work with, so thanks!

    1. Yes, you many! I'll start linking products or bloggers in an academic citation style next if you like!

  9. Only 10 minutes and you applied falsies? That's impressive. It would probably take me 10 to 15 minutes just to not screw that up, lol! I agree, when you only have a limited amount of time, neutrals must be used, otherwise the results can be.....interesting. When you fuck up neutral makeup, it isn't as noticeable.
