MUA Nail Constellation in Pisces

Yeah. I didn’t want to put it on my nails today.

Libra Lips

Libra Lips

Random mint green lipstick, Miss Sporty gloss in Punk It Up!, MUA Nail Constellations in Pisces.

Because I do what I want!

I’ve not tried these on my nails yet – to be honest, I only really bought them to play with them on my face. I can say that I inadvertently ate about a teaspoon full of them (slight exaggeration) and I wouldn’t recommend it! The packaging is actually really useful for getting the beads back in and the nerd in me was quite pleased with that. There is an issue with static and the beads sticking to the plastic though, so wherever you decide to stick these, do it slowly!

This, in case you’ve been living under a rock and have missed the caviar nail trend, is what they’re supposed to be used for:

By the wonderfully talented Karla Powell.

I must say I’m keen to see what the next textural trend for nails will be… after the velvet manicure having a seemingly massive flop, I’m wondering if I should take a trip to the craft store and see if I can predict the next trend!

Have you tried a caviar manicure?

    1. Thanks! I think the nails would be less annoying than the lips! :D

  4. OPI is actually coming out with what they are calling "Liquid Sand", due out in January. Here is a link to their facebook page, where they have posted pics: https://www.facebook.com/OPIProducts?ref=ts&fref=ts

    1. I've seen that! I actually think that looks cool but I'd like to check them out in person to see if they;re just chunky matte glitters or what!

    2. I'm definitely waiting for swatches to come out before I even consider getting any of them. I worry about them getting caught on my clothes, and making snags in the threads. But I thought it was an interesting idea for sure. (Now we can all sit back and wait for Ciate to try and steal this one too. Lol!)

  5. Hey :) I found your blog through your purple lipsticks post from 2011 and I love your blog so much! I'm sad though because the High Voltage Cosmetic company seems to have gone downhill, and their lip candy in "Just a Girl" is the exact color I've been lusting for, for years now!! Can you maybe do an updated purple lipstick post or comment back with some possible dupes for that shade?

    1. Of course I can! Just a Girl was a very different formula, but there are tons of awesome pinks out right now - If you're in the UK, try Sleek Amped or if you can get MAC Candy Yum Yum, that's a similar level of brightness, just a bit milkier. Milani Rose Hip, if you can get that still I remember as being almost identical!

    2. Just A Girl was the lilac purpley one, not a hot pink! I have a dupe for Candy Yum Yum though and will look into those other ones. Do you have any recommendations for lilacs or light purpley pinks? :) thanks so much for responding. Love your blog!

    3. Ah balls, of course it was! I'm thinking of Heart of Glass, d'oh! Hmm, I'll have to have a think properly about dupes for that because I don't have anything any more, but try somewhere like Secret Kisses (they're the same factory that make Lime Crime) or OCC Lip Tars (Digitalis and Hoochie maybe?). I know SweetPea and Faye make lots of cute pastel colours and so on but I've heard mixed reviews of thier products as well

    4. Yeah I've got a Sweetpea & Fay pastel purple, it's very light though - almost white. The OCC lip tars are okay but they separate and I barely have time to use them so I wanted something in a lipstick/liquid lipstick range instead of a pigment type deal. I've a Lime Crime one but it stains awfully and is breaking all over the place, I'm really really sad because that lip product by High Voltage is PERFECT and exactly what I want/am looking for and it's not available anymore :( Can't even find anyone who is selling it. I am sad. :(((( booooo

    5. My only other suggestion would be hit up an indie maker and get a custom colour made - I know plenty of them have made custom colouts in the past. Fyrinnae used to have a lilac lip lustre that was a similar hue but the formulas are very different. Evil Shades have nice lip products so maybe they can help you out with a custom jobbie? Otherwise I've heard Geek Chic and Tick Tock have nice opaque colours so maybe they'd be worth hitting up for a custom order as well?

    6. Oh wow that's an awesome suggestion. I never thought of that. I will check out Geek Chic and such!! Thank you :)

    7. Try Fyrinnae Fan Service maybe? I didn't realise they had that out again.

  6. Uber innovative. It looks like hundreds and thousands, and I can totally get behind nomming on some of those.

  7. OMG I just did this the other day with OCC lip tar in Botanical and some beads from one of those Ciate caviar manicure kits! It looked pretty sketchy so the pictures will likely never see the light of day.

Anyway, this turned out really well, you've kept it perfectly neat. The colours all go together fantastically.

  8. Oh God this looks insanely good! I want to do it now but I bet I would not be able to do it properly and look like a fool!
