I am going to kill Bill

Some Kill Bill inspired make-up for you today! Its going to be irregular, but I'm going to do a film inspired look from time to time. I have a few ideas - Labyrinth, Meg from Disney's Hercules - but please leave a comment on this post if you'd like to see my take on your favourite film :)

Now, I had it in my head that the suit Uma Therman wears in the movie has a checkered stripe down the side of it, like a NY cab, and it doesn't, but I realised that once I had already started. I had in my head that she drives a taxi too, when I know full well it's the Pussy Wagon. Whatever. It's *inspired* y'all.

As always, never as good as it looks in my head but here it is!

The checkerboardness is odd. Its very hard to paint it on your eyes, especially because mine have quite a lot of fold in them, so up close at certain angles, it looks really messy when at others it looks perfect. It took me sooooooo long to do as well!

I used:

Eyes:
UDPP
Nyx jumbo pencil in Milk
Yellow from Sleek Bohemian Palette
MAC e/s in Gesso
Nyx single e/s in White Pearl
Bright yellow and mustard shadows from 120 palette
Collection 2000 Fast Strokes liquid eyeliner in black applied with MAC 210 brush
Collection 2000 Volume Sensation Mascara (lost my Telescopic when I was pissed the other night :S)

Lips:
Maybelline Moisture Extreme Liner in 80 Red
Nyx Round lipstick in Fire
Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in Scream (inner corners)
Collection 2000 Pure Gloss in Icing

Face:
Revlon Colourstay 150 Buff
Sleek Contour Palette in Light
120 e/s as blush
Sue Moxley transluscent powder
Mixture of Barry M Cherry Red and Black Dazzle Dusts with Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick in Royal Red

Brushes:
217
219
210
227
Elf Studio Powder Brush (foundation)
Elf Studio Blush Brush (contour)
187 (blush)
Barry M powder brush (must throw this POS out)
Celia Birkwell angled brush (for the 'blood')

Do people care what I've used? I personally like seeing what people have used, mostly because when you look at a look, you don't really realise how many products people use, and I think its good to see where people use high and low end brands, too.

Anyway, much love and kisses, and a big welcome to my new followers!

P.S: I got my 'Makeup your mind' by Francois Nars book last night and it is fantastic! Each page is a before and after shot, with a clear layer that goes over the after shot showing you what products go where and what they are. Its such a beautiful book, I'll do a full review if people want.

  12. I like to see what people use to ....Sometimes they use something to blend or to highlight that changes completely the look but is barely noticeable (is that even a word ?). Awesome work ! The pics are absolutely perfect ...
