LOTD: Knickers In A Twist

I tidied all my pigments the other day and was instantly sad that I neglect them so much as I have some beautiful, beautiful colours! I threw on a couple for a warm, autumnal kind of look.

Cheeks: Sleek Suede, Boots No 7 Vital Enlightening Highlighter, with Soap and Glory Bright Here Bright Now as a base.
Lips: NYX Round Lipstick in Saturn, blotted (thanks
Kathy!)

I’ve waxed lyrical about OCC Triptych before. Go and get it.

And just for fun, here’s the outfit that I wore that day too. I was on a lovely shoot and wanted to look cute. The t shirt is from Hot Topic and is a present from my lovely friend Rachael who knows me all to well. The shoes are Topshop, cardigan/jacket is really old H&M and the leather swing skirt is from a random little ‘market’ shop.

I love this outfit and makeup and having worn literally nothing all week on my face and nothing exciting clothes wise, it felt good to throw on some lashes and some sparkly shoes!

Miscellaneous weekendness… (LOTD, OOTD, Makeover etc!)

Sort of an offload-y post today, y’all….

First up, a FOTD which looks nice if you don’t look too closely at it. I bought a white gel liner at Inglot and unlike their others, I don’t rate it as much! It doesn’t seem to like the waterline too well and it’s not as opaque as I’d hoped. Ah well.

Eyes: Shadows all Inglot, Inglot Matte Collection AMC Eyeliner Gel in 76, Darling Girl Pixie Sprinkles
Lips: Covergirl Siren
Cheeks: Inglot AMC Cream Blush 81, MUA Blusher Shade 1.
Bone earrings: Topshop

See what I mean about the liner? It’s alright, it’s just not… amazing. Le sigh. I wish I’d done a more dramatic crease as well, but I was pushed for time.

Wanna see my awesome new skirt? Well, tough shit, because here it is…

leather skirt
ice cream

Skirt, Central Park. Tshirt, Primark. Creeper pumps, Topshop. Necklace, Topshop.

Isn’t it the mostest perfectest skirt ever? It’s faux leather and it’s perfect for wearing to photoshoots because if I get any makeup on it, it just wipes off! I had to show off the awesome necklace as well – I love it so much even though it’s super heavy. If I see Topshop have a sale on, I head straight for the jewellery section!

And lastly here’s a quick look I did on my friend Dolly Donnahue today…

Dolly

Eyes: All 120 palette shadows, Kikp Long Lasting Stick Liner in 09, Inglot Matte Collection AMC Eyeliner Gel in 76, Avon Super Shock mascara.
Cheeks: BeautyUK Baked Blusher in Peaches and Cream, Illamasqua Lover
Lips: Sleek Mystic, pink from 120 palette.

The new gel liner didn’t like her waterline much either! :( I saw a gorgeous look where the model had white on her lower lash and waterlines, and Dolly had pointed out a green look that she liked in my NARS book, so I put the two together. I love that lip colour on her!

What are you getting up to this weekend?

LOTD with Illamasqua Kontrol

Hola, amigos! I’ve just got back from an awesomely relaxing week in Mallorca with my Team Alpha – we did absolutely sod all for the whole week except swim and BBQ and it was amazing! I didn’t really wear makeup for the whole week so I was quite keen to pop some slap on this morning. I had a package from Illamasqua waiting so I thought it rude not to use some of the stuff! I also wanted to do a bit of an anti-summer look as well.

Eyes: Lid, Sleek Crete. Crease/Lower lashline, Too Faced Exotic Colour Intense Shadow in Night Nymph. Highlight, Sleek Pow!. Liner, Collection2000 24/7 pen liners in Black and Purple . Inner corner, MUA Intense Colour Pencil in Lovely Lilac.
Lips: Illamasqua Lipstick in Kontrol
Cheeks: Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Lover

Lillian recommended Kontrol to me and ohemgee, why did I not buy it sooner? I normally don’t have the balls to wear colours like this on a day to day basis, but really, it’s so worth the dodgy looks from chavvy boys in Sainsbury’s! I was worried regarding the formula of it, but it’s actually spot on and goes on really opaque and creamy! It’s reasonably long lasting as long as you’re not eating a huge portion of yakisoba – the ring left round my mouth prompted the Boy to tell me I looked like the Mouth of Sauron. Cheers, love.

Bonus OOTD? K.

Disney Collaboration with Fierce Nerditude: Sleeping Beauty (and bonus OOTD)

Sleeping Beauty is an awesome film – Malificent, yo – but Aurora herself? Bit dull. Even when she’s not asleep, all she does is sing and cock-tease an owl. Nonetheless, her peasant outfit is adorable, so that’s what I went with for this look. I had a great idea for the ‘Make it pink! Make it blue!’ part, but I just didn’t have time. I want to come back to that, though.

You’re not getting shit, owl.

Lips: NYX Chandelier.
Cheeks: MUA Blusher in Shade 2.

I couldn’t decide what false lashes to use with this look – I really haven’t found any that look Disney enough for me. You know, with not too many lashes, but so that I don’t actually look like they’ve been drawn on. Oh, woe! We kept with the Princess theme this week and I gave Vijaya the slightly more well-rounded Giselle from Enchanted, which I love! So plz to be checking that out.

And just for a bonus, here’s what I wore today:

LOTD, OOTD: Cheap and cheerful

I wore this outfit on Sunday and thought it was really cute, so snapped a few quick pics before I went to a shoot for the day. It was only as I was on the train later on that I realised my most expensive item was my lipstick!

Good old Primarni! I’m such a tight ass. But my bag was designer?!

OOTD: Dinner Lady

According to my Dad, anyway. Thanks Dad. I wore this last weekend when I went to visit the folks.

Clothing:
Dress: Tups Vintage on eBay
Cardigan: Primark
Narwhal necklace, aka Neville: Callooh and Callay
Pumps: Primark

Face:
Eyes: Shadows from Sleek Bohemian
Cheeks: Almay blush in 130 peach
Lips: Morgana Cryptoria Vegan Lipstick in Twinkling Rubies (thanks Rach!)

The dress is 70's, but the shape and the collar does give it a bit of a wartime feel. I very rarely wear red because of my hair, but I thought this dress called for it so I went and raided Primarni to find a cardi. I'd check the shop I bought the dress from out if you're in the UK and in to vintage as she's got some lovely bits and bobs up there - this was only £18! Alright, still quite expensive for something that someone probably died in, but whatever.

OOTD: Iron Maiden

I never get dressed up for gigs, but I went to see Iron Maiden on Saturday (who put on a fucking amazing show!) and we had seats so I figured I could get dressed up without getting drenched in other people's sweat or twisting my ankle - I've never worn heels to a gig before, ever! Makeup is my Captain Hook look from yesterday.

Iron Maiden shirt: Ancient, customized by me.
Wet look leggings: Winners
Boots: Pleaser.
Belt, bandana: eBay
Nightmare before Xmas bowling bag: Disneyland :D

I changed into my boots on the tube because the less stairs I have to negociate in them the better - socks and sandals lady was unimpressed! Do you dress up for gigs/shows or are you a jeans and t-shirt, let's-get-all-sweaty kind of gig-goer?

omgyay!!!!

So I went to MAC today... first time evaaar! I had my little list with me and after being served by a lovely helpful (I mean hot) guy I came out with:

Yay! I got vouchers for my brithday and I'm so happy, no way could I have afforded that on my own! I know its not a massive or exciting haul but I am very happy.

The brushes are:

-210. Thin eyeliner brush. Got this because I'm fed up of applicators that come on liquid liner. You can never get a thin line or do detail work.
-219. Pencil brush. Everyone in the world told me to get this, so I did. I've literally been gagging to get my grubby little paws on one of these!
-217. Blending brush. Not the shape I was expecting! Its kind of flat, where I was expecting something rounder. Excited to use it now!
-227. Large fluff brush. Leesha of xsparkage calls this the 'magic brush.' The MUA at MAC said it would be great for higlighting, though I bought it with the eye area in mind. I love this brush already, its so cute!
-187. Er....face brush! Again, this is a lemming thing. I cannot wait to try it for blush, it feels so nice on my face. Mmm :)
-224. Tapered blending brush. I don't remember asking for this one but I guess I must have! This is what I was expecting the 217 to look like.

I got Gesso eyeshadow but its pretty boring so no swatches. Its matte, its white, pigmentation is decent. Onto the good stuff... of course, I got Viva Glam Cyndi:

Sigh, I LOVE this! Love it love it love it. Was worried neither lipstick suited me but I bought them anyway. I felt guilty spending £160 on makeup so buying the Viva Glam lipsticks made me feel a bit better about myself! (I presume you all know, but all the profits from MAC Viva Glam products go to people suffering with AIDS and HIV.) I wouldn't have normally paired it with the e/s I have on in this picture, its just a lil swatchyswatch. Anyone got any ideas what I could wear with it?

And I bought Gaga too!

...Does this suit me? I don't know! Please tell me what you think. Also, WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME HOW GOOD THESE THINGS SMELL?! Gorgeous vanilla scent! And they feel soooo creamy!

I'll get back to you on how these brushes work out for me soon. I'll have a lot of brush reviews and comparisons coming up soon because I am waiting for the postman to bring me:

-Kent Angled Contour Brush
-Kent Definition Socket Line Brush (looks like a fat 219!)
-Kent Angled Eye Countour Brush
-Kent Angled Eyebrow Brush
-Bare Escentuals i.d Precision Liner Brush
-Tigi Beadhead The Love brush

As well as Lancome Hypnose Mascara, Lily Lolo blush and bronzer and Bare Escentuals Quick Change Brush Cleanser. Oh! Also the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual, Makeup your Mind (I think this is the NARS book), a Marie Claire book and another makeup book which I can't remember. I love having a birthday!

And my outfit today:

This is very girly for me but OMFGITSTOOHOT. So here it is. Don't know where the dress is from, my Dad bought it for me while we were out one time. The top half of the back of the dress is a big bow, so it has a little cutout area above where your bra goes. The belt which I freakin' adore is from a vintage store in Vancouver which I really miss - it was so awesome.

And lastly the look I rocked for my birthday:

I wish I could have had proper victory rolls, but I can NEVER do them when I am actually going out, only when I'm muching about. I wore a huge 1950s-style a-line dress which is bright pink with l'il poodles on it! We went to All Star Lanes which is an amazing retro bowling alley with a diner and a cocktail bar. Everything was amazing. I love bowling but I hate chavs (chavs are... well, rowdy, rough delinquent, people who look like this) they and this place was very chav-free. And I had the best damn chilli I've ever put in my mouth. There's a few sites across London so check them out!

Sorry for the long post today!

Love and Kisses,

Robyn xxx

Up above the streets and houses

So today I did two looks. I didn't like the first one, took it off, didn't like the second one.

Oh well, here they are anyway!

Yep, I did a rainbow look! Just because I'd never done one before. It was only ok, I didn't have an orange that matched the texture of my other shadows very well. It looked ok in the end but I'm going to meet my boyfriend and I thought he might like something a bit less.... clowny.

So I did this:

Now I know it looks ok (I used my new MUA duochrome shadow that I didn't swatch yesterday over NYX's Milk and Black Bean) but I tried about five times to put false lashes on today (he has decided he likes falsh lashes, which means I have an excuse to wear them now! :D) and it just wasnt happening, so I don't like it. Yes I'm being silly, no, I don't care.

My Outfit Of The Day: Primark tank, Volcom skirt. You can't see but I'm wearing embroidered chinese slippers with pink roses on for shoes, and cuuute little earrings with Sailor Jerry type swallows on. Now I'm going to add a black cropped cardi, navy military jacket and pale blue Alexander McQueen-style scarf. Speaking of AMcQ, that loooovely perfume bottle there is MyQueen perfume, which I have run out of but I adore.

Yay or nay on OOTD?

Love and kisses,

Robyn x
