Lip Maths: Sounds Like LOL

Hahahahahaha, oh, the witty title.

My friend Wendy recommended me this combo and I have to say I really like it! I’ll be wearing this for sure. I just got Sounds Like Noise and I was a little apprehensive about it as it’s got quite a pale base and it’s a little yellow on me, but it’s actually more wearable than I thought. Y’all know I love orange lipsticks (dead excited about the Orange collection MAC is releasing!) and I love Paramore and Hayley Williams too, so I had to have it.

Everyone’s been comparing SLN to Maybelline Electric Orange. SLN has a paler base and is matte, whereas EO pulls a little more red and isn’t matte. I won’t call dupe, but if you missed out on SLN it’s not a bad alternative.

Lip Maths: S is for ‘Sleek’

I really love the Sleek Eau La La Liners on the lips. They are dry, but some of the colours are so perfect for the lips! Pumpkin in particular gets a lot of use…

Sleek and Mac

I wore this combination by accident when I picked up the ‘wrong’ lipstick a week or so ago and I actually really loved it! I don’t know how to describe the colour – it’s a weird coral-y kind of thing. Somehow Impassioned STILL managed to stain my lips, even through the orange liner! I think this is going to be a great combo for summer!

Lip Maths: Violated Film

Ugh, another Lip Maths, another very questionable blog title.

I absolutely love this combination – it’s a lovely oil-on-water kind of effect. I love it when I find a nice colour to wear with Violate – it’s a surprisingly more wearable and layerable gloss than you’d think, but you know, it’s still green. I can’t wait to wear this combo out!

Boom!

Loving this combination – Ilamasqua Galactic is crazy stuff! This is the first time I’ve played with it, but expect to see it more in it’s full silvery glory very soon!

Lip Maths

If someone can write a whole bunch of lip and/or maths based puns for me to use for this series, I will pay you in…er, love, because I am out. Done.

Peach Lip Maths
Peach Lip Maths 2

Rather pretty, no? I’m rather scared of wearing pale, peachy shades despite owning a ton of them, and Romantique on it’s own has never really suited me. I think I could just about pull off this combo, though, even if I’m not ecstatic about how it makes my teeth look. Colour aside, I’m really enjoying pairing the Sleek Eau La La Liners in general with other items on the lips, they’re a really nice base and they actually have a lot of colours that work well on the lips!

Lip Mathematics: ASAP, Babe.

Sorry for the awful Vaseline-lens photo here, but this was the most accurate depiction of all the sparkle! Sadly the look didn’t look so lovely on the face and looks much better as a lip swatch, but who am I to argue with that much sparkle?

For those of you in the states who have access to Jordana, I wholly recommend this gloss – very, very pretty.

Lip Maths is back!

I can’t believe I forgot about my Lip Maths for such a long time! Shame on me! In all honesty I ran out of puns, which weren’t that good to begin with. So, less of the puns, more of the awesome lip combos, yes?

Oooh, I really like this one! Green and purple are a fab eye combination but I’d never really thought to pair them on the lips before. I’d wear this with contoured cheeks, matching liner and big, thick lashes!

What would you wear over Kontrol?

Lip Mathematics: Back to School

Lip Maths inadvertently took a Summer Holiday! Sorry! But I’ve got new shoes (which aren’t as cool as the ones that I chose), a brand-new pencil case (with gel pens, thankyouverymuch) and I’m ready to get adding.

First up, let’s see if we can remember what we learnt last term. What does one awesome thing + another awesome thing equal?

One awesome thing + another awesome thing = a really awesome thing.

A* for me!

Lip Maths: School Uniform.

My school uniform, it was not sexy. The red and gold colours of my school emblem... well, I might be able to do something with those.

Covergirl 'Flame' + Darling Girl Holo-gloss in 'Gold Finger' =

If only I still had my school jumper - it would match perfectly. Clompy shoes, unflattering trousers and embarrasingly see-through school blouse - you can get lost.

Todays Lip Maths was brought to you by Wendy and Rachael - thanks for sending me pretty things, ladies. You both get an A*!

Lip Maths: Teachers are Fascists.

a squared plus b squared equals c squared....
...and it always does, so why bother doing the bloody equation in the first place?! I know the formula, ergo, I know the answer. Skip the homework man, I can pythogorate anything. I can do triangles. I'll find that missing length and stick it right up your hypotenuse.
Sadly one theorem I could not master was that of 'makeup plus school equals scrubbing your face with bog roll in the school toilets,' or what we eyeliner lovers referred to as Fascists Law.

Shiro Intertubes in 'Leeroy Jenkins' + Gosh Light N Shine Lip Glaze in No 5 =

Yeah.... I'd have had to scrub this off as soon as I stepped foot in the school gates. Fascists.

Lip Maths: Better than Algebra

I hate it when the maths teacher asks you an algebra question, and you rack your brain trying to work it out and then the old biffer asks you *again* the next day. Remember it yourself, love! I find something like this easier - lipstick is always lipstick, and doesn't change into letters or hide in stupid brackets you have to get rid of.

Inglot Matte Collection AMC Lip Pencil in 11 + Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Romantique =

Mmmmm.

YEAH. Differentiate that, Mrs Prior.

Lip Maths: Pens at the ready...

I need your undivided attention today, class. The simplest theories are often the most important ones. Observe:

High Voltage Lip Candy in 'Vavavoom' + Hi Fi Spotlights Lip Glaze in 'Corrode' =

Hotness that is most certainly inappropriate for school.

Gloss addition has come up in every single exam paper for the past 10 bajillion years, and it's sure to come up again and again. When revising your stash, I strongly encourage you to practice the lipstick/gloss equation.

I'd be a crap teacher, wouldn't I?

Lip Mathematics: You've got to put more effort in if you hope to achieve an A in this class.

Gosh Velvet Touch Lipstick in 'Darling' + High Voltage Lip Candy in 'Take The Stage' =

This kind of pinky peach colour. Hmmm, maths is boring. Maybe I wouldn't have got a D three times in school if we'd added....

GLITTER. It won't get you into college, it might get you into someone's trousers. And who said we needed an education?

Nah, only joking. Stay in school, kids. Tomorrows lesson: Inglot!

Lip Mathematics

Numbers, I cannot multiply them. I cannot add them, I cannot subtract them, I can't calculuslus them. Lip products, however.... I can addz them! Lip Mathematics will be a quickie weekly feature where I make a mix of some lip products in an effort to not buy any more!

A pink
and a purple makes a pinky-purple! Phew. Maths is hard.
